George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing
VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA – MONSTER TILEFISH!
Virginia Beach saltwaters host some of the most diversified and impressive fisheries within the continental U.S. With his MARC VI in Virginia Beach, Poveromo teams up with local fishing pro – Beth Synowiec. One of Beth’s specialties is hand-crank deep-dropping for trophy class Golden tilefish. In this episode, she guides Poveromo to a spot along the Norfolk Canyon, some 82 miles offshore and in 800 feet of water. Here, they drop to the bottom in pursuit of oversized Goldens. Fishing with Beth pays off, as Poveromo bests a monster 33.4-pound Golden tilefish – by far his largest tilefish to date. This is a must see show, for the fine art and finesse involved in successfully hand-crank deep-dropping for both Goldens and Blueline tilefish. Poveromo’s MARC VI docked at Marina Shores Marina, whereas the Poveromo team stayed at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center.
