Meet The Host
Rupert Boreland
Chef Rupert is a graduate of the George Brown college culinary program. After completing college Chef Rupert began his apprenticeship in a number of brigade style kitchens, which is the system where specific cook positions are assigned throughout the kitchen to maximize efficiency. Gaining experience as an apprentice in a German kitchen where wild game was often offered on the menu, Chef Rupert went off in a number of directions and worked in kitchens that started off small then grew.
Chef Rupert became the Executive Chef at a restaurant in Kleinburg, Ontario called The Doctors House, where he worked for 9 years. During his tenure as Executive Chef some of the dishes incorporated game meat and had a game meat theme. After leaving The Doctors House, Chef Rupert started teaching at a private culinary college where he was encouraged to pursue his certified chef de cuisine designation, CCC. While teaching at the college, Chef Rupert also started doing demo’s for a company that distributed commercial kitchen equipment. Chef Rupert now works for GBS Food Service Equipment as VP of Retail Grocery and on the side cooks for the TV series, Wild Game Cooking.
